It was the final champions league semifinals match fixture, a much-awaited fixture between two teams who were new to this stage of the competition. Ajax who reached the semifinal for the first time after over 2 decades hosted Spurs who are novel at this stage of the competition, for a chance to finalize the battle. It was yet another glorious and emotion-filled night when we thought we had seen it all in the Liverpool vs Barca fixture. A night that will forever be in the minds of the Spurs faithful, as they make history by pulling off yet another dramatic and heroic comeback, to reach their first ever champions league final since existence.
Spurs who have had a series of ups and downs this season, couldn’t hold their emotions, as they have finally made history. Their season looked bent some weeks ago, but now, they have an opportunity to put an unforgettable smile in the minds of the sports supporters.

Ajax were in a very good mood prior to the game and will be extremely disappointed no crash out of the competition after almost crossing the line. They’ve been considered the team of this competition as far after their incredible performance, but it is all quite unfortunate that all their effort were made to waste by just one man.


Brief Post-Match Analyses

As usual, it was a great European night at the Amsterdam Arena, the whole stadium was filled with fans all hoping for their team to reach the promise land.

Ajax lineup in a 4-2-3-1 formation, while Spurs also mirrored the same 4-2-3-1 formation. The game began and everything started looking very early that Ajax were surely going to make it to the finals, scoring two crucial goals in the first half, but Spurs came with a different motivation and determination in the second half to steal the show, pulling off a remarkable comeback to reach their greatest achievements since the inception of the club.

De Ligt scored the opener just 5 minutes into the game, heading the ball into the net from a very good corner, to further give hope to everyone the supports Ajax.

Ziyech doubled the lead in the 35th minute, firing a powerful effort inside the box from a counter-attack to give the goalkeeper no chance. With this goal, everyone in the stadium thought the tie was already done and dusted, little did they know that we will have to witness yet another dramatic semifinal ending.

Moura got a goal back for Spurs in the 55th minute, driving the ball into the box and firing past the goalkeeper to give slight hope to the Spurs supporters.

Moura drew the scoreline level in the 4 minutes later, a little defensive misunderstanding in the Ajax box, allowed Moura to dribble his way to create a shooting opportunity for himself, a goal that gave the who away fans hope that something epic was going to happen.

Moura won the tie for Spurs single-handedly by scoring his hattrick few seconds to the final whistle, to send the whole Spurs fans wild.

It was a heroic performance by Spurs to make history for the club, a night that they will forever remember. They now have a chance to win not only their first ever title, but to win the club football most covetous trophy. For Ajax, this was a huge disappointment and a very sad moment for everyone at the club, crashing out the way they did was really heartbreaking for them.
