An Exciting Derby Clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as Chelsea Set to Battle It out Against Spurs

The biggest match of premier league matchday 18 kicks off in a matter of few hours. An exciting London Derby clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, a game Jose Mourinho and Frank Lampard and as always, the fierce rivalry between Chelsea and Spurs.

Spurs have been flying ever since Jose Mourinho took over at the club and they are now looking like real favourites to finish in the top 4. They are the exact opposite of Chelsea in terms of recent form. They are probably the favourites to get the job done at home considering their recent form, however, this wouldn’t be an easy game for them as they know they can lose the game if they don't perform at above 100%. Nevertheless, they would be keeping their eyes on the top 4 and would want to fight to leapfrog into the top four.

Expected formation and tactics – Spurs will be expected to set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation. A very crucial game for them and their ambitions to make it into the top 4 after it seemed impossible a few months ago. Their gameplan would be to try to make it very difficult for Chelsea and also to capitalize on counter-attacking chances in the match.

Chelsea are in a not so good spell at the moment, their honeymoon period of over 6 wins in a row has come to an end and they’ve have found themselves at the other side of the pole. The Blues are in a difficult position right now and stand a chance of losing their top 4 position to Spurs if they fail to get a result at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. A very difficult game for them considering their form at the moment, however, they have performed considerably well away from home this season and most of their wins have actually been from away games. Nonetheless, this is a 50-50 encounter and both teams can loss all 3 points in this match.

Expected formation and tactics – Chelsea will be expected to set up in a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 formation. For Frank Lampard and Chelsea, this is a must-win game if they are to not put too much pressure on their top 4 race as they would have Sheff United knocking as well. Their gameplan will most likely be to play quicker on the ball and try to be more clinical in front of goal while also ensuring that they are solid at the back.
