The biggest fixture of the week is here, a much-anticipated fixture we all have been waiting for would be taking place in just a matter of few hours. Chelsea who are coming from a disappointing loss at home against Southampton will be taking on Arsenal who are now being managed by club legend.
Arsenal are trying to find their feet again after appointing club Legend Mikel Arteta as the new manager of the club and they have already started showing improvements and the direction there are going. They have a long way to go in the top 4 race, however, the uncertainties in the top half of the table with the exception of Liverpool who have remained the only stand out performers this season, means that Arsenal still have a chance as there is still a lot of games still left to play.
Expected formation and tactics – Arsenal will be expected to set up in a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 formation. It is already clear that Mikel Arteta would be influenced by his time with Pep and would be going through a similar tactical system. Their gameplan would be to try to keep possession of the ball and try to find spaces in the game to hurt Chelsea.
Chelsea are really having a lot of ups and downs moments this season and have found themselves in a very difficult position in their top 4 race, throwing away about 9 points clear in the top 4. They face another very London derby battle against Arsenal at the Emirates stadium and a must-win game for Chelsea if they want to retain some distance in 4th place.
Expected formation and tactics – Chelsea will be expected to set up in a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 or a 3-4-3 formation. This is a must-win game for them as they would be doing everything possible to avoid back-to-back defeats. Their gameplan will most likely be to be more clinical in front of goal and try to be defensively solid like they did against Spurs, which remains their best game of the season.
