It has been an exciting week so far and even more for the Chelsea fans who watched their team completely School Jose Mourinho’s Spurs side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Coming up this Thursday is the Boxing Day fixtures as Liverpool will be going up against Leicester City away at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester City are also having one of their best seasons, their best was probably their unimaginable title-winning season. They’ve had an incredible run of form for the most part this season and are looking like real title race contenders. However, their honeymoon period have seemed to have come to an end as their last two games have all ended in 1 draw and 1 defeat. They face another difficult battle at home against Liverpool, a game that they are the underdogs at home. Nonetheless, with the way they have performed so far, they have what it takes to upset Liverpool at home.
Expected formation and tactics – Leicester City will be expected to set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation. They’ve shown that they can go toe to toe against the top side this season and will be looking to take the game to Liverpool at home. They love to play football if they have the chance to but will be willing to sit back and launch counter-attacks with the qualities they have especially in quick transitions.
Liverpool, as we all know, are the only team in the premier league that haven’t lost any game and have in fact drawn only 1 game out of the 18 matches played. They are currently having their best season so far and are looking very likely to run away with the title. They haven’t won the premier league yet and this season, they are clear favourites to make history. Another tricky game awaits Liverpool at the King Power Stadium, their second fixture against Leicester City this season. They were lucky to get all 3 points at home against Leicester and will have to be on their best to ensure that they continue their unbeaten form.
Expected formation and tactics – Liverpool will be expected to set up in a 4-3-3 formation. As usual, we should be expecting nothing too different in Liverpool’s style of play as we all know how Klopp likes his team to play. Maybe a little change in tactics but the overall general play will most likely be the same. This post can also be found on my scorum blog
