brief NFT art editorial

By borkerson | FLOSTATION | 9 Dec 2021

i suppose NFTs can be an investment. sort of the way buying a pack of baseball cards or buying a lottery ticket might be. generally though, i think that instead, people should consider them a product, creation, or artwork, and that one should buy NFTs like you would a piece of physical art. sure, that’s unrealistic on the ethereum network for most people, but it’s certainly plausible on a lot of the low fee blockchains, like Stellar (XLM) & Algorand, or even using Polygon (MATIC). I’ve bought some images that were only a couple ALGO which i thought were really cool, intricate, absurd, or funny, and i thought it would be cool to contribute to an artist i thought was making good work. in turn, i hope someone buys some of the photos or weird abstract collage-type files i’ve posted. maybe in the future, the NFT art will appreciate in value, but i’m not really thinking about it as an investment. even if this phase of NFT usage is some sort of fad, i definitely think that it’s an opportunity for artists of all types to have another outlet to make some money from doing the work they enjoy.

so far, i have images listed on 2 Algorand sites, and i may expand to some other chains/networks soon, such as Polygon, Solana, Stellar or Tezos.  https://algogems.io/gallery/BAMES
