MEDICINE AFTER DEATH

The choices has been made. The electorate has failed yet again in active and conscious participation.
The laws are clear as we have it today (highly criticized to be anti people) One who is interested in holding a public office must abide by them. However, the electorate have a responsibility to ensure they are accountable. Because the power that enthroned them into office comes from the people. Therefore, the people through their elected representatives must be able to remove a bad leader in accordance with these laws.
It is a great disservice and shortchanging ourselves to allow political party or godfather dictate the choice of aspirants without the input of the populace. When this happens, the electorate are devoid of choice at this point. What is left is mere suggestion to follow the greed, selfish, wickedness of unimaginable magnitude as presented. Where the options are no different from one another you are forced to continue with the same old vicious cycle of malady.

Take a clue from the scenario whereby a political party demanded hundred million Naira for just nomination form. Who do you think would be able to afford this if not criminals who has looted the nation's treasury in the past? You don't think to effect any meaningful change only at the top or when the better choices are off the table. In election year, your effort is medicine after death.
Pause! Take a moment to ponder on root causes of corrupt practices if not from this kind of anomaly being perpetrated by the political heavy weights who has successfully owned the polity with high-handedness in virtually everything unabated.
To undo all these the Nigerian electorates needs to be fully involved from ground up. Thereby ensuring a self sustaining system capable of selecting credible leaders and screen out unpatriotic elements who are seeking only to be called your Excellency, or simply looking to have a go on the 'national cake'

The solution:
Political participation
Originality in party ideology
Active Voting and Sensitization
Joining Civil Society Group
Active involvement in party politics will guarantee influencing ideology, manifesto, sentiment and aligning party interest with national interests bringing about loyalty and devotion to collective goals of such party. Shunning carpet crossing aimlessly. Because presently all political parties in Nigeria are one and the same since Independence.
The same strategy, pattern, promises etc. are what they are recycling hitherto.
Lastly, to effect meaningful change in our political atmosphere. There's need for a rebirth of politically conscious and patriotism on the part of the electorate in ensuring true power emanates from them
