I have been following the markets closely for the past year, when I say following I mean I am addicted to watching my investments. I check my phone probably 50 times a day for the past year.
Having a financial background, I have tried using both technical and fundamental analysis when picking my investments. I am still learning, by reading blogs, listening to podcast, and researching the web.
One of the things I have noticed is that from 2017 to 2021 the market capitalization went from $17 Billion dollars to $1 Trillion on Jan 8. Since Jan 8 the market has increased by $758 Billion. So in less than 2 months time we are 3/4 of the way to hitting $2 Trillions.
This has been an amazing time to be in the market. I have watched Bitcoin go from $3700 last year to almost hitting $60,000. Ethereum went from $200 last year to over $2000. Although these seem to be amazing gains, the altcoins I have invested in have increase much faster.
I constantly talk to family and friends about getting into crypto and I seem to always hear the same story, I don't know anything about crypto. I was also in this boat until I decided to get my feet wet. I have totally embraced it now. More and more people are getting their feet wet with Coinbase believe that they have over 35 million users in 10 countries, so a fair estimate that there may by around 100 million users worldwide.
What I think will drive the market, is a change in understanding by normal investors, we are seeing this as people like Elon Musk has enter the fray will huge investments in Bitcoin. I believe the biggest jump is yet to come and will be due to a major player entering the crypto world. Facebook plans on creating their own crypto, this will accelerate the market capitalization as new members start to understand what potential crypto has for the world. When Diem (formally Libra) hits the streets is will add 2.8 Billion more people to the fray.
When this happen and we go from millions of users to billions of users, investors that are currently in the market are going to be overnight millionaires.
