I hope this works as a first post >w< hi! so as I've mentioned in the blog, I mostly use charcoal and ink although I can use other art mediums yet they somehow lack depth so half the time I would mix up my mediums a lot. So here, I'll just be writing about the most recent portrait I've been working on. It's more of hand practice because I haven't been drawing much lately.

Here I used an image from Freak, a suburban song and it really caught my attention when I first listened to it

Now that I get a better look at it, they don't look that similar after all but that's a few weeks of no sketching. As to whether I would still finish this... well... drawing stripped clothes can get pretty tiring and I'm so lazy to do details but hey, I might actually finish this when I'm up for it
It feels like I may have gone a bit overboard with using my white charcoal to blend instead of the blending stump but I wanted to retain the depth of the black since the actual shot was in a pretty dark setting, after all.

Here is a snap an hour or so after I started the sketch.
Now I'm curious how you guys blend charcoal because I use a makeup brush or a blending stump but the makeup brush has a more even blending for me then any excess, I just erase or I just incorporate it in the background as well
That's it from me for now! I'll make sure to try to finish this or I might start up a new drawing later, let's see where my boredom leads me
