Legal Battle Continues - Binance chooses a Practical Approach

By AX17 | figurehowtowrite | 14 Jun 2023

As written previously, it seems the legal allegations from SEC are only punishments meant to solve nothing. The request to freeze assets of US Binance is, supposedly meant to protect customers' investments. Its timing is at least strange and the reply from Binance is straightforward and clear.  We do follow the progress every day to make some sense of what is going on and how this might affect everyone actively involved in the crypto and blockchain field.

The legal team from Binance also clearly explained on several occasions, that a lack of clear definitions of crypto assets from SEC is the main issue and leaves a lot of room for interpretations (what is security and what is commodity). Giving the rules, limits before applying the consequences (law enforcement) should happen in this order. First, define limits and then check what is not being followed.

Although Binance is completely against SEC's Monday urgent Temporary Restrain Order to freeze all US Binance assets, the defendants are still opened to discussions and again, offered a transparent, more practical approach focused on communication and negotiation. AT the end of the reply from law team, they propose the pragmatic approach, willing to cooperate and do what is best interest of both parts:
