The cycle of politics you weren't aware of

One would think Trump losing would be his defeat. Because Biden is better for the world, unlike Trump. One would be wrong. There is a cycle in politics to make sure corporations get what they want. If they take too much, people will be angry. If they take too little, it's not profitable enough. So they can't ever exaggerate, right? Wrong, it just takes a little while longer. Because of how much is being cashed in, sticking to a long term plan pays off.

Phase 1 - SEIZE

A nation of people who are not unhappy. Everyone minds their own business, comfortably thinking everything will be all right. There is no struggle, no need to survive. But people still want to thrive. They are left with a void - specially in the middle class, financially speaking - that can be filled with whatever righteous cause lures them in. That means they are vulnerable, because they are not paying attention. They are ready to be exploited.

Enter Trump, a man who picks views on every single pet peeve the middle class population has. Because they are the eloquent people with an active voice. He proceeds to set an extreme, confident tone on trending subjects like the Mexico border, family planning network and abortion. Because of this, he wins. Even though he never delivered on anything but the wall, which was very expensive to US tax payers.

By the way, undocumented Mexican immigration was already a whole lot better before Trump. As you can see from the image A, Mexicans mostly had previously already stopped immigrating. The total number of aliens in the country became lower in the past decade before Trump, which means that number mainly comes from the existing immigrants. It will keep lowering over time, regardless of whatever excuse of a wall Trump built.

The government used your tax money to buy private land. Have you ever thought of who owned them? I'll tell you whose lands are/were those:

Border landowners are a diverse group of people. They are Republican conservationists and Democratic land barons, outspoken government critics and quiet influencers, the products of the politically powerful and the relatively disfranchised.

That's right! That crappy wall's only purpose was to give your money to millionaires. During his time as president, Trump also turned from pro-abortion to pro-prison and his administration's domestic “gag rule” has slashed the Title X national family planning network's patient capacity in half. So he used whatever was trending to get elected, but did nothing about it.

Phase 2 - CALM DOWN

A lot of bad things have been done and the people are angry. Of course Trump wasn't going to win. But that's okay, because a lot of really bad things were successfully completed. The Trump Organization and their allies got what they wanted. All of it. And then walked away without any kind of repercussion. Well, they did make the people really, really angry. Unhappy.

Enter Biden. A populist, who is going to not take the world apart by pieces like his predecessor, but won't actually repair most of the damage that has been done. But at least Trump lost! So it's okay, right? Yeah? Yeah. That's actually enough to calm people down. Maybe even make some stuff for them until they are not unhappy again. Because once they are unhappy, there will be a new sock puppet to take the blame, just like Trump was.

It's just a cycle

After all that crap that hit the fan during George W. Bush when they waged war against Iraq to usurp their oil for Bush Industries' glory, it was Obama's turn to calm people down. That's how it goes in every first world country. But because a specific public celebrity takes the place, people are always hopeful things will change.

Biden has explicitly stated how he'll try to enforce nature protective laws here in Brazil. What good is that? My current government, allied with Trump, set the majority of our natural rain forest on fire so the land could be used for crops and cow, extinguishing several species and killing millions of wild life animals. The damage is done. It is irreversible.

But when I head Biden said he was going to pay attention to us, I thought for a second, "phew, somebody who cares about us is in power now." And then it hit me. For a second, I was just thinking exactly what mega corporations wanted me to think. For that second, I was being nothing but their cow.
