Crypto faucet

How much can you realistically earn through faucets ?

Thanks to the pandemic, i decided i would try many faucets to see how much i could earn in a 3 months period.

I choose to try with no referals, so i could see how much i could earn alone through faucets.

All the faucets presented bellow did effectively pay the gain, within 48h as announced on their website.

Long story short, here’s the end results :

  •  I earned between 15c to 25c USD per week per faucet, on average.
  •  Time spent to earn it varied from 30 min to 2h (cumulated during the day) per faucet, per day, on average.
  • Minimum withdrawals requirements and fees vary greatly and that is part of the catch.

The story, the rules, the test :

During this summer, i had time to kill between jobs, and couldn’t realistically take another one, so i thought  how could i earn some cents ? I knew crypto faucets existed but never really took time to look into it.

Before starting out, I set a few rules for myself :

  •  I decided to give it a shot for 3 to 4 months
  •  really invest time (i had plenty of it)
  •  no referals, so i could really see how much you could earn, alone.

I tried : FaucetCrypto, FireFaucet, CoinPot, Allcoins.pw, cointiply, FreeLitecoin apps from Bitcoin Alien.

Understanding faucets :

Before giving you the results, let's do a little review of commonalities and differences between all faucets.

Commonalities :

They all pretty much work the same way : they offer PayToClic (PTC), shortlinks, survey, sometime PayToView. You complete the task to be rewarded. Reward vary depending on the task and the faucet.  Simple !

The differences :

let's cover the differences in withdrawal specs, crypto available, direct withdraw or through agregator like FaucetPay.

  •  withdrawal requirements and fees. This is why some faucets are better than other.

The lower the withdrawal requirements and fees, the better : you can use it for a week of two then stop and get your reward on the way, and without too much withdrawal tax penalty.

Some faucets have a low requirement, like FaucetCrypto : you can withdraw as soon as you get around 75 satoshis (=1,5c USD), and the fixed price of withdraw is 7 satoshis. I do tend to withdraw around 1500 satoshis (=25c USD) in DASH or LTC or BCH, the withdrawal fees remains always equivalent to 7 satoshis

Some faucets like Cointiply have a very high requirement : 3,5 USD. You have to work the faucet for a long time to be able to withdraw the reward. This is a way to keep you captive : you will have to use the faucet far longer than you would have otherwise. When i reached 1,3 USD i thought i’d stop, but hey ! i was a third of the way !

  • Crypto available to withdraw : Some sites allows you to withdraw in multiple currency, some will allow only BTC. You have to ask yourself what crypto do i want ?  If you withdraw then convert, you'll always pay some conversion fees or trading fees that will reduce the amount earned.

  • Direct withdraw or agregator like FaucetPay.io ? Some faucets allows you to withdraw directly to any wallet, some other will force you to use some agregator of faucets gain like FaucetPay.io. Keep in mind that some of those agregator will have some withdrawal fees that will reduce the amount earned.

Which faucets do recommend ? Results !

The following list is in the order of what i consider to be the best faucet to the lest interesting faucet.

1 – FaucetCrypto.

So far, FaucetCrypto has been the best faucet. It pays consistently around 20c USD every weeks, in direct withdrawal in either LTC, BCH, DASH, TRX, ZEN (and many other crypto currency).  Withdrawals are almost free, and with an absurdly low requirement.

The second reason is because it's the easiest faucet to use, ever ! There is almost never any captcha to do, and when there is, it's only about matching numbers to numbers (like 2+2 = ?) or word to word (like "w@ait3r" to "waiter").

Last but not least : i spend less than 20 min a day to do it.

Crypto available : BTC, BCH, ETH, ETC, LTC, DASH, TRX, ZEC, ZEN, BSV, BTT,  DGB, Doge, KMD, PIRATE, PIVX, RDD, RVN, SYS, XVG.

2 – FireFaucet.

FireFaucet is the second best faucet. It pays very decently, i do around 15c every two week. The only faucet so far to offer USDT among many other cryptocurrencies ! It offer direct withdraw with no fees, but with a little minimum requirement of around 1 to 1,4 USD (1USD for USDT, 1,4 USD for other crypto currencies).

FireFaucet is in fact a real "faucet" meaning earning can be slow but consistent : the Autoclaim process will allow you to do one claim per minute, on as many crypto as you want (all 9 crypto if you want to !)

Crypto available : BTC, USDT, ETH, Doge, LTC, DASH, TRX, ZEC, DGB

3 – CoinPot

CoinPot is a bit different from the other in the way it works : You have to register on CoinPot, then you go to the six faucets to claim. On the faucets page, you sign in using the e-mail used on the CoinPot account, to get all the earnings agregated on the CoinPot website.

CoinPot is a bit of a mixed bag, for known reasons. It can be great and sometimes have some bugs that are really irritating (i talk about it further below).
On the good side : you earn a 1% bonus for every consecutive day you claim a crypto. Claim 30 consecutive day to get 30% bonus claim. But if you fail to claim a day, you loose all your bonus.
On the bad side : someday the website can be down and you can't claim, and because you don't claim for a day you loose your bonus ! Hence the "irritating bugs".

On certains crypto, CoinPot pay is good (Doge and LTC), average on other (BTC), little on other (BCH and DASH).
No withdrawal fees (yeah !) but withdrawal can be veeeery slow like on BTC : took a whole week to confirm the transaction on the network sometimes !
5 crypto currencies available : BTC, LTC, BCH, DASH, Doge.

There is a 6th coin, which is the CoinPot coin, that offer Yield farming, and that can be converted to any other coin.

I earned around 14c USD per week when i averaged the 3 months use. Meaning some month i didn't withdraw anything because i was below the minimum requirement, and some month i did withdraw BTC, DASH and LTC the same week.

4 – Cointiply

I wouldn't recommend Cointiply because of it's very high minimum requirement to withdraw (3,5 USD !). However it did pay well, a bit above average as it took me 8 weeks to get there.

Cointiply offer only BTC, and direct withdraw for free.

If you reach 5 USD you can start a yield farming at around 5% APY (APY = annually), interest paid daily.

I only used the smartphone app and never the web site.

5 – AllCoins.pw

Allcoins.pw is a bit special. As a faucet, it's not good. But it does offer the possibility to use a Monero miner to get some BTC directly. Monero is CPU intensive when mined. So if you have a powerfull computer (like 6 cores or more) and don't pay electricity, can be worth a shot.

On this one, withdrawal minimum are a bit above average and withdrawal fees are fixed but a bit high in my taste. On the good side, they have a lot of various crypto available (BTC, Doge, LTC, ETH, DASH, XMR, BCH, IDA, XLM, XRP, TRX, BTT, GGM)

6 - FreeLitecoin Apps.

I definitely don't recommend FreeLitecoin apps : it pays very little LTC, almost nothing, for a lot of time on it.  i earned less than 10c on the month for at least 1h a day on it. On the other cons : it pays only to Coinbase wallet.

As a matter of thing, i wouldn't recommand any phone game to earn crypto as the "Pay Per Click" is really extremly low on phone compared to computer.

Conclusion :

Don’t expect to be rich or earn anything meaningfull with faucets. Any job, even at minimum wage, will make you earn more money per hour (For the US and Europe at least).

Expect to earn between 10 to 20c per week if you are on your own with no referals.

Get referals to really increasse your gain : with 20% referals gains on the average, if you get 5 referals, you'll double your gain.

Tips : Before getting into it, choose how much time per day you allow yourself to claim. I fixed a 30min rule per day to do all my claim – the time to drink a hot cup of coffee after lunch.  After that, i don't touch again any faucets as it can suck your time like a vampire.

Extra tips : send your gain to a wallet that make you earn interest like Celsius.

Last tips :  use the faucet gains to pays your transactions on the various blockchains networks.
