Just want to put this to light, because it has genuinely become so bad and the big tech companies don't seem to care anymore. Sure AI have not made this better and the amount of fake ads that is being used also for legitimate apps are insane at this point.
Lets first talk about the legitimate apps that have build a good mobile game or useful app, but they use AI or any other software to make ads to make it seem like the game is something else then it really is. I'm sorry if you are at a point you need to make fake ads advertising something your app isn't then maybe you made the wrong app? Not to mention the app store page reflect these ads so get people to install their app just to get disappointed in hope they will stay anyway and use money in their apps.
The app market have just become a big money grab where developers don't give a damn as long the money roll in and google do not seem to care or moderate anything because the other day i saw an app that advertised gambling, but the app store page had a different name, was set for 3 years old which for gambling is not great and if for that sake even have license to run a casino and the big tech wonder why the EU keep fining them for breaking the law, but no they rather pay a billion dollars every time and save on staff to moderate the apps and look at what is uploaded to the app store, big tech and companies have become so disconnected from the world and it all is just amount how much money can be milked in the shortest amount of time even it means the company will go under instead of like in older days building a company to last for years to come and generations. If you are as old as me and remember the first touch phone and the first few apps that you installed which had no ads or if they did it all was a small banner.
I have at this point stopped installing games that make fake ads or use AI to make advertising and to change how game look for just gaining installs.
Now illegal apps are still a big issue even on google play, but of course the ads are the biggest issue, because none of the ads are checked before they go live or advertised and often a lot of the ads link to a fake app store with fake reviews, hoping some unknowingly will fall for it and download their fake app to pressure money out of you or data or for that sake install malware on your device.
Sure i know that we can't really avoid ads in apps if we want the rewards from them for in game items since that most of the time wont work if you have a adblocking proxy on your phone, but we can decide if we want to click on it instead of taking our own time to open the app store and look for a game or app we want to play or use.
We are sadly at a point where companies rather just pay a fine now and then because its easier then fixing the issue at hand because they still will earn their billions and who will get screwed over the most is me and you, the users of their products, because you are the one getting scammed, or losing things you had close because of something else.
This post is to spread some awareness and get you to think twice, because if you keep feeding instead of showing them its not alright things will never change and you will keep getting screwed by it.
