It hurts. There is no other way to spin it. I could argue about long term visions. I could argue that a year from now, it will likely be at a higher price. I could argue that there is ample opportunity to buy altcoins, which are currently at fire-sale prices.
But all that is just logical thinking.
In the meantime, in the now, it hurts. Losing half of your crypto value in a day is absurd, and indeed would be illegal in normal functioning markets, but this is what you got yourself into when you entered.
The gates of crypto are lined with skulls and warnings.
Cursed Is The One Who Enters Here
And the road is strewn with bloody red dildos, and the rivers flow with the tears of moonbois.
And it hurts.
But here's why I think it will pass.
First, I've been in since 2017. I'm not new, but I'm not old. I got dumped on, and I've seen this all before. So I'm already emotionless.
Second, if we follow the Wuhan timeline of the corona virus, we're talking about a month to two months before cases peak, quarantine measures take effect, and new cases stop appearing. At least, as this article argues.
The current sell offs are being influenced by the current pandemic. As it hits the United States, that country is going to continue down the line of bat-shit-hysteria.
This pandemic will trigger an already bloated and moribund neoliberal order that has run since the bailouts of 2008. That bull market is over. We are in a global recession. But it will pass, too.
Crypto will either go to zero in the coming months, down into Tartarus. Or it will arise, post BTC-halvening. And come 2021/22, we will be back in business.
But first we need to take a moment and feel that pain. Before letting it slip through your fingers and moving on.
