Thanksgiving 2020 - No Mask, No Turkey!

Thanksgiving 2020 - No Mask, No Turkey!

2020 was, well just Bullshit frankly. So much sadness and death around the world. I was so sad that our son who was born just a few months before things got crazy was only able to see half of everyone's face because of the masks. He'll be 2 in august and still is a bit confused because he now sees some people with masks and some people without and I know he can't figure out what the heck we are all doing.

Although, even in all that mess, I was able to find the joy and happiness that can sometimes be hard to recognize when you're standing in a sea of crap. This is what I had to say about being thankful on thanksgiving in 2020.

This year has been hard, on all of us. We have had to learn a whole new world and how to adapt. It's been crazy but even though it's been hard, I am thankful for these things this year.

This year my thankfulness is directed towards my family and our continued health as the year ends and a new, unknown year starts. I'm thankful for god keeping us safe and in decent health so we can keep Ma'la'ki safe. I'm thankful for my wife. Without her, I would lose my head and my direction in life. She gives me her love and her hand to hold with a never-ending wonderful view of what my future holds and I'm very thankful for that and for her enduring presence in my life.   I'm thankful that God has blessed me with a beautiful son. So bright and happy with a beautiful love of life which is evident with his smile that he keeps on almost all day long. He is so special to me, for many reasons but most of all I'm thankful when he looks at me and smiles.   I'm thankful that God answers prayers and that he can sometimes make distances disappear by listening to two prayers that brought my wife and her brother together this year. I have never been more thankful for the happiness of another than I was this year.   I'm thankful for the beautiful country we live in and the experiences I've had exploring it in my life. Many never leave their hometown, yet I've been blessed to see the sunrise light up lava fields all the way the sunlit breakwater to seeing the most amazing colors change before my eyes as the sun sets over the Grand Canyon to the view of lobsters cooking in big barrels outside a restaurant in Maine. I am thankful for those things again this year as I am every year but more so as I get older.   There are many things I'm sure that I am thankful for this year like scientific research breakthroughs or this awesome space race and all the cool stuff being sent back from space but those are the ones that are most important to me right now.   Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all have a happy and safe holiday season and that the only thing you spread this year is cheer!

I wonder how different things would be today had the Indians been wearing masks at the first Thanksgiving...
