Why Is My Crypto Not Pumping? What to Do When You're Left Behind!

By Bfab | Good vibes | 11 Nov 2024

You have noticed that almost all cryptos pumped recently. However, I still hold a few ones that have not pumped yet - for instance, Celestia (TIA) is only up by 2% in the last 30 days, which seems very weak compared to the likes of Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), or Solana (SOL). What should I do?

Firstly, consider the concept of opportunity cost. While your current holdings might not be performing as well as others, switching to another crypto could mean potentially missing out on future gains from your current holdings. It's essential to weigh the potential benefits of switching against the potential losses.

Secondly, understand the narrative surrounding your coin. Cryptos often move based on the stories and communities behind them. If Celestia has a strong narrative and an active community, it might just be a matter of time before it catches up. Conversely, if the narrative is weak, it might be worth considering other coins with stronger narratives.

Thirdly, it's crucial to differentiate between strong and weak coins. Some coins might be lagging because they lack the fundamentals that drive long-term growth. However, others might be temporarily undervalued due to market dynamics. It's important to do thorough research to understand why your coin is not performing as well as others.

Remember, it's not always wise to rotate all your holdings into whatever is pumping at the moment. Markets can be fickle, and today's high flyer can be tomorrow's underperformer. Diversification can help manage risk.

Also, keep in mind that sleeping cryptos can wake up suddenly, or they might not. Patience is key in the crypto market. Just because a coin is not performing well now does not mean it won't in the future. The crypto market is known for its volatility and sudden reversals.

Lastly, be wary of the myth of 'not sold, not lost.' While it's true that you only realize losses when you sell, holding onto a coin that has little prospect of recovery can tie up capital that could be used more productively elsewhere. Additionally, be aware of the psychological aspect. FOMO (fear of missing out) can lead to impulsive decisions, which is something to avoid.

In conclusion, there's no one-size-fits-all answer. It's crucial to stay informed, stay patient, and make decisions based on sound research rather than emotions.

So what did I do with my Celestia (TIA)? I sold a part of it for ETH, but kept a little bag in case of...

No financial advice.
