Another day, another scam attempt on X. This time they offered me translation work, followed by a "conf call." The invite link, however, was a phishing attempt disguised as Microsoft Teams, as usual...

Their message started with "Hello and good day Cryptofab," and it hit me: my display name was making me a target. I decided to change it, but how could I keep the "cypherpunk" spirit?
As you may know if you're a Bitcoin OG, cypherpunks are advocates for privacy and individual liberty in the digital age. They believe in using cryptography to protect ourselves from surveillance and censorship. So, I changed my name to Cyfab, a nod to both cypherpunks and my original handle. I may be a smaller target for scammers now, but I'll always stand for the values that cypherpunks hold dear.
