Further to a previous post on airdrops, Tbombs reached out, asking for more details about opportunities with TON (The Open Network) airdrops. Here’s a personal take on what I’ve learned so far.  

First off, if TON is new to you, start by checking out my TON explainer video linked below. It will give you a solid foundation for navigating this blockchain ecosystem.  

When it comes to airdrops, not all opportunities are worth your time. For instance, tape-to-earn games like Rocky Rabbit sound fun, but after hours of effort, I only managed to earn a few dollars. In my opinion, they’re not worth the grind. Instead, I’d recommend focusing on DeFi applications within TON, where the rewards and potential for growth are significantly better.  

There are some promising DeFi protocols to explore. Tonstakers LSD, for example, has a total value locked (TVL) of $297 million and focuses on liquid staking. Other options include bemo with $98 million TVL, Cygnus Finance with $53 million TVL focusing on RWAs, and Stakee with $44 million TVL for liquid staking. For lending, EVAA Protocol offers a $33 million TVL opportunity, while platforms like Storm Trade ($23 million TVL) and UTONIC ($19 million TVL) focus on derivatives and staking, respectively.  

In my experience, starting with liquid staking protocols like Tonstakers or bemo is a good entry point. These platforms provide steady returns with manageable risk. Exploring newer apps like Farmix for leveraged farming or SettleTON for yield strategies could also be rewarding, especially with the possibility of upcoming airdrops.  

Staying informed is key. Keep an eye on Telegram communities and forums to stay updated about tokenless protocols that might airdrop in the future.  

While TON’s ecosystem is still growing, its DeFi applications offer some of the best opportunities for making money directly on your smartphone.
