$S is the native token you’ll need to trade on Vertex. To buy it:

2. Deposit funds (USDT works best).
3. Search for $S (Sonic) in the trading section and buy the desired amount. You only need a small amount to pay for gas fees.
Step 3: Transfer $S and USDC to Your Wallet
1. Go to your wallet on MEXC and withdraw $S to your Metamask or Coinbase Wallet.
2. Transfer also USDC (for instance bought on Binance and withdrawn from there to your wallet on Base chain) to Sonic chain using a bridge like rhino.fi for example.
