Ethereum (ETH) Merge - The Final Countdown

Only a few hours left before Ethereum Merge. Will Ethereum (ETH) rocket take off and bring us to the moon as expected, or will it just crash? What are the options?

Will ETH rocket take off and bring us to the moon?

In the short term, it is likely that ETH will dump just after the Merge, once ETH holders have received their ETH POW coins... If any.

According to Bobby Ong, CoinGecko co-founder and COO:

ETH will probably be bought up in the hours to the Merge and dumped immediately after. You can choose to sell ETH and take profit then.

What are the options?

If you want to keep your ETH, there will be basically three options:

Easy option: Hold your ETH on a centralized exchange supporting potential ETH POW forks, e.g., Binance, and wait for ETH POW coins to be listed.
Medium option: Hold your ETH on Ethereum blockchain and buy stETH (Lido staked ETH) in order to benefit from a potential pre-Merge discount.
Advanced option: Hold your ETH on Ethereum blockchain and wait for the Merge in order to get the ETH POW coins, then withdraw & sell them.

The advanced option is the riskiest one, and requires some precautions in order not to lose your coins through replay attacks.

The easy option does not include any risk - except if the Merge completely fails and ETH disappears... But in the best case the profits will be around 2% of the ETH value you hold, according to the current ETH POW futures.

The medium option could be a good one, assuming stETH discount will be more than 3% in order to make this option more profitable than the easy one.
