Almost Scammed By Fake X Account... How I Spotted It

Recently, I came across an article from Binance about X account compromises... Just a few days after I got almost scammed by a fake X account!

It all started with a DM about my crypto project. The sender seemed legit, even had the verification badge. She offered a call to discuss some "exciting opportunities." But something felt off.

First, this fake Sara Sperling wrote:

Why would it be "WE" if she's one person?

So then, I checked further and noticed that she was followed by none of the persons that I followed... A typical red flag. I also found a person saying that this person was not Sara...

What I did

I accepted the call but she never showed up. Just sent me the following excuse:

Not sure about the way this person wanted to scam me... But for sure I did not respond...

In summary: Beware of the fake X accounts!
