For those of you who have been using Publish0x for a while, we have witnessed a constant stream of innovation and positive changes. For tips to authors and readers we have seen tokens come and go - AMPL replacing LRC, ETH being added, DAI leaving - and there appears to be more change around the corner. Earlier this month when Igor published Publish0x in 2020 - a Year in Review, there was a tease about two potential changes to the tipping coins this year.

According to the update, the first new coin will replace BAT (this month!) and "will be an Ethereum based token" that involves Defi. He also says "No promises here, but I can reveal that we are seriously considering adding a major token that is not on the Ethereum network." That means we might see 2 new coins/tokens this year! But what might they be? I have a few ideas for what might be around the corner for Publish0x users. Again, this is completely speculation and just for fun!

Defi Token

Any idea about the next defi token would definitely be a guess, but my initial prediction would be a token that Publish0x already has a tab for such as Uniswap, Maker, or Aave. Or they could surprise us with another AMPL by adding an up and coming project or something new and innovative - one of the numerous newer DAOs or a different algorithmic stablecoin (MIC?). 

Now what about the non-Ethereum token/coin? The only hint that we got is that it is a "major token". Hearing major I would expect it to fall into one of two categories - large or well known (or both). With that being said, here are a few that might fit the bill:

Bitcoin

The first one that comes to mind is the King of Crypto - Bitcoin. Bitcoin is well known (you think?!), large, and would definitely be considered major. Who here wouldn't like to get or send a tip in sats?

A Crypto Team's Token

There are some great teams that write and publish updates about their product here on Publish0x - NOW, BAN, FARM, and others come to mind. This might be a great way to grow these partnerships and still reward readers and authors. 

Ethereum Killer

Ethereum fees have been higher than a kite lately and there are a number of so called "Ethereum Killers" chomping at the bit. Will they be successful? No way to know, but tips in the form of Zilliqa, Cardano, Tron, Binance, or Tezos would be awesome! Including one (or a few) of these coins could help diversify our holdings, reduce network fees, and many ETH killers have the added benefit of staking for extra rewards.
