Lazy Gardening Meets Lazy Crypto

Lazy Gardening Meets Lazy Crypto

Let me start by talking about my home garden. Every year around January I look outside at all the gray and brown, and daydream about the spring to come. I endlessly browse seed catalogs and fantasize about the small oasis I will cultivate in my backyard.

By the time planting season arrives, my enthusiasm is in high gear and my yard fills with rows and rows of vegetables (and this year, fruit!). I spend the early summer tending, watering, and impatiently waiting for my tomatoes to ripen, the squash to flower, and the berries to outlast the squirrels and chipmunks.

At some point around August, I miss a day of watering or I leave the gate open and a rabbit devours everything, and a good chunk of my harvest vanishes (don’t even get me started about the year of the groundhog scourge). Usually there are only a few hardy survivors by the end of the summer. And then the fall and winter arrive again.

After a few years of this cycle I have come to a few realizations:

  1. I prefer easy to grow vegetables
  2. I prefer vegetables that can handle the heat, a drought, or heavy rain.
  3. I like occasional harvests vs daily undertakings (the every other day squash is preferred over the daily spinach)

In short, my laziness and easy to distract nature are beginning to steer my gardening to a better place. I now grow reliable zucchini and bell peppers instead of the ultra-rare rainbow pepper from a specific mountainside in Shangri-La (as an example).

Now what the heck does this have to do with crypto?

  1. I don’t have the time
  2. I still like to make money (or eat vegetables)

And here comes Harvest Finance on its golden tractor:

Harvest Finance is the heirloom tomato that grows itself. I don’t have to water it every day. I don’t have to pick off aphids. I don’t have to fight off a groundhog to get my fair share.

Harvest Finance saves me money and time by automating the yield farming and finding new opportunities for my crypto.

Rather than check 250 different yield farms every hour, moving around, chasing yield and burning gas, Harvest Finance automates this task for me. To be honest, most of my income comes from my full time job which means I can’t spend most of my time chasing yield and finding farms.

If I did find 250 defi projects worth yield farming, that would likely entail at least 250 transaction fees, which is something that this crypto sardine cannot afford. Harvest Finance can both save me money (by avoiding gas fees) and diversify my income due to the revenue sharing nature of the FARM token.

Harvest Finance might be able to replace the crypto equivalent of my January research on crop rotation, companion planting, and new varieties of peppers, so it is being added to my bookmarks and this gardener may retire his plow and shovel.

Thanks for reading!

(In case you're wondering, yes, that beautiful tractor is an original work of art)
