Having trouble with bluetooth disconnecting or acting intermittent/erratic with stereo bluetooth earbuds?
Reset your Mac’s Bluetooth Module
Let's reset your Mac’s Bluetooth module. Just a heads up - you'll have to re-sync all of your Bluetooth accessories as this will reset your sync history.
To reset your Mac’s Bluetooth module, you’ll need to complete the following steps:
Step 1: Hold down the Shift (⇧) key and the Option key and click on the Bluetooth menu in your Menu Bar on your Mac.
(You need to hold both Shift and Option keys - just holding the Option key only gives you certain details but not the debug option.)
(At least that's how it is on my MacOS Catalina 10.15.5)
Step 2: Go to Debug > Remove all devices and click on it to disconnect all paired Bluetooth devices.
Step 3: Now open the same menu once again and click on Debug > Reset the Bluetooth module to reset your Mac’s Bluetooth module.
Step 4: After resetting your Mac’s Bluetooth module, you can now attempt to re-pair all of your Bluetooth accessories. Hopefully everything works as expected and you're back to listening to crystal clear bluetooth at only a slightly lagged process when working with live editing! (Videos may show slight lag but most things these days offer a buffer to make up for the slight delay. Audio should be great!)
Hopefully this was helpful!
