Mercy's Battle

In the land of human souls, a war wages fierce,
Between Mercy's gentle touch and Vengeance's piercing spear.

Mercy, with her soothing voice, seeks to mend and heal,
While Vengeance shrieks for justice, determined foes to seal.

Mercy pleads for compassion, grace for all who stray,
But Vengeance thirsts for punishment to balance wrongs at play.

On the battlefield their cries ring out loud and clear,
Mercy's tender whispers and Vengeance's voice of fear.

"Mercy you are weak!" Vengeance bellows strong,
"Your foolish kindness only breeds deeper wrongs!"

"Vengeance you are blind!" Mercy shouts in kind,
"Your anger burns untamed, chaos sown behind!"

Mercy's tears they rain like light upon the land so torn,
Vengeance spews her flames of hate for all that she has sworn.

Who shall triumph in this clash of two great powers?
Will Mercy's heart prevail or Vengeance's fiery towers?

The choice resides in each human soul it's true,
For Mercy and Vengeance both dwell in me and you.

May Mercy guide our steps upon this earthly sod,
With open arms embracing all with the great love of God.
