What are the Chances of You Existing?

What are the odds of your dad meeting your mom? — That's roughly about 1 in 20,000.

What are the odds of your dad dating your mom long enough so that they would have kids? — That would be another 1 in 20,000.

What are the chances of a sperm cell of your dad meeting with an egg cell of your mom just to make you? Considering also that your mom and dad had to have s*x at the right time. — That would be 1 in 400 quadrillion.

Remember that all of us are descendants of numerous ancestors. From the very first humans, to the very first ape-like ancestors up to the very first single-celled organisms.

What are the odds of your ancestral lineage remaining unbroken long enough just to create you? — That would be 1 times 10 to the power of 45,000.

Imagine writing 10 with 45,000 zeros after it.

But wait a minute. The right sperm also had to meet the right egg for every single one of those ancestors.

That's like 1 quadrillion times 1 quadrillion for every generation.

To calculate it all up. The chances of you existing right now is 1 times 10 to the power of 2,640,000.

That is so much larger than all of the particles in the whole universe even if every single particle was a universe itself!

So what are the chances of you existing? It's pretty much zero.

A miracle is a fortunate outcome that prevails despite overwhelming odds against it. By definition, you yourself is a miracle.

Now go ahead feel and act like a miracle!
