BACK MASKING—subliminal messages within a song?

Backmasking is a recording process in which the audio is recorded backwards. It claims that a particular song has a veiled subliminal message that could be revealed if played backwards. If the the listener plays the backmasked song, he or she would hear messages associated with Satan, the devil, or other random stuffs.

But how is this possible?

In the field of psychology, an individual is under the influence of "perceptual set" if he or she is listening to a backmasked track. The perceptual set is a mental predisposition to perceive one thing and not the other. The subtitle is a perceptual set; our brain is trying to match the written subtitle to the sounds of the reversed song. Without the subtitle, we could only hear jumbled sounds.

The predetermined process of our perceptual set is the "top-down processing." throughout our life, we undergo on the process called scheming. Schema is the framework of our knowledge on a particular matter. It helps us understand and organized unfamiliar concepts and ideas that we encounter. The top-down processing uses the schema already stored in our mind to set expectations on the subject. In backmasking,
if we already have the idea that a satanic or subliminal message is hidden on asong, our brain will process it according to our expectations and predefined ideas. This will lead us to believe that the backmasked tracked has the diabolic influence or element which we are looking for.

To test these statements, let us have a quick experiment. Listen to the audio of the video below without looking on the subtitles on the screen. The normal track will be played first to be followed by the backmasked one. This video has no subliminal or any satanic stuffs in it. After doing so, do you hear or understand anything on the reversed part? Now, try listening again to it, but this time read the subtitle while the track is playing. Do the subtitle and the sounds match together?
