Sea turtles have existed millions of years ago, since the time of the dinosaurs. They can lay more than 150 eggs at a time. The sex of small turtles is temperature dependent. They use the earth´s magnetic fields to navigate. Green turtles live in tropical/subtropical coastal waters around the world.

 

STATUS: Endangered

CURRENT POPULATION TREND: Decreasing

BIGGEST THREATS:

  • fisheries bycatch
  • habitat loss
  • overharvesting and Illegal trade

WEIGHT: up to 700 pounds

LENGHT: up to 5 feet

HABITATS: Oceans...
