Bitcoin Rivals Gold (As a store of Value)
This one may seem obvious to many but there are many more who doubt bitcoin's ability to hold its value. And quite frankly, who can blame them. Volatility for gold is nowhere near bitcoin's volatility. 30 day 60 day or otherwise. Now granted there have been major explosions in the bitcoin market that have caused major buying points and sell offs. If bitcoin is truly poised to become the new gold, then fluctuations in the market cannot always look like this:

Instead, the ideal is a much more reliable trend that may go up or down but stays largely the same value. Here is gold as an example:

Even with the sharp peak, gold still trades about its average 1835,30. Bitcoin on the other hand exceeds it by some $15000. Now a reminder, I am not a bitcoin hater, doubter nor bear. But I am a realist and for Bitcoin to truly become valuable more hands are needed to be in play. I like to say the "whales are turning" as Wall Street tries to get their hands on it and with the additional investment by Elon Musk and Tesla and the consideration by Twitter's CFO, Ned Segal, more hands is a good thing. Just don't forget to hodl in the process. It may still be years away before bitcoin returns to relatively stable pricing as more and more people gain interest. Goldman Sachs exec, Jeff Currie, global head of commodities research, says that more investment firms are needed before btc stabilizes. He says there are already signs of maturity in the market. However, only 1% of bitcoin ownership he claims is institutional (Ezquer).
Ethereum Runs Ecommerce Business
I have been a big fan of ethereum for some time but I am still waiting on the day for...
"VISA opens the Ethereum network to more than 60 million merchants as it integrates USDC" -FXStreet
^This headline to become more of a reality. Yes, they have done so and yes dapps and defi have gained more traction than ever with Ethereum at all time highs. But what I want to see is a reality where Ebay and Amazon are conducting smart contracts on ether's protocol. And I think it will happen sooner rather than later.

Decentralized Finance and Microloans Will Change the World
If and a big If the cryptocurrency market is able to adequately spread the funds deFi creates. Decentralized finance is good when its replacing first world global banking systems. But it is great when its able to distribute the power of wealth to areas underprivileged and represented. It does no good if the technology provides the US, China and the Saudis the chance to grow their GDP in a new fun way!
No, to truly change the world we need people introducing cryptocurrency as a means of revolution and democracy for countries that cannot afford their already instable climate. Non-Governmental Organizations will enter countries that are currently being helped by UNESCO and the World Bank to start microloans within the communities as is already being done with fiat monies.
Impact
I believe solar and wind grids, telephone communication grids, medical and data entry, transportation communications systems and plenty more will all be revolutionized by crypto currency within the next 10-15 years. Countries will be able to rely on themselves more than their exports with the newfound infrastructure and investment. And we will establish a basic universal income that provides a standard of living that rises with the costs of inflation.
We have to in many ways or else our problems will be our demise. And no one wants that :/
But with blockchain and cryptocurrency as our tools I believe we can change the world.
