Hello everyone, here I am again to talk about Marcos’s uncle—a guy who, as you probably gathered from the last entry, was quite peculiar, to say the least. He was someone you might even call a subject worthy of study. For a while, Marcos saw him as a role model, to the point where it almost caused a clash with Marcos’s own father (who we’ll talk about in a future entry—Sandra says to save that for later and focus for now).

The thing is, Marcos would often visit his uncle’s house on his days off and spend the day there. Being Marcos—someone who never kept anything to himself and shared everything—he told us things we probably didn’t need to know. And let me tell you, those revelations didn’t exactly put his uncle in the best light.

First, his uncle was a hardcore fascist, something he openly admitted to Marcos without hesitation. Second, he had a flag with the Francoist eagle hanging above his bed. On top of that, he was homophobic and, to make matters worse, racist.

If that wasn’t enough, he also smoked weed—something Marcos ended up trying more often than he should have, completely clouding his judgment. Marcos went from being left-leaning to right-leaning with astonishing ease. But that’s Marcos for you—he’s not one to make things difficult, as you should already know by now, dear readers.

Frankly, nothing good came out of this situation. Now you might understand why Marcos’s father didn’t get along with his uncle.

His uncle was a character, and more than once, I advised Marcos to distance himself from him. In the end, he did—but how and why? We’ll uncover that in upcoming entries.
