According to NewsCrypto, Meta platforms Inc. are beginning to cut more than 900 jobs from the company’s Reality Labs division. The part of the sudden push is to redirect resources from virtual reality to A.I wearable amd phone features.
The top head of the company Reality, Andrew Bosworth (Chief Technology Officer) has indicated that the notification has been posted and layoff are on-going. According to him, the cuts are expected to hit 8% of employee within the ‘Reality Labs Group’ which is about 10,000 workers.
As part of this significance shift, Meta is pivoting its Metaverse efforts on mobile device and the company is planning to cut back on its virtual reality investment to make rooms for other sustainable business.
