I am studying for my Amateur Radio Technician Test tomorrow but have to take a break from reviewing or I will do more damage than good.
Figured I would share a few resources I have found that are beneficial!
First off, go grab a copy of Gordon's Book 2018-2022 Technician Class or the audio book version.
READ THE BOOK! Its not that hard of a read! Mr West makes it somewhat enjoyable.
Next go to HAMSTUDY and take a few practice tests. These are the SAME QUESTIONS that may be on your test! I even grabbed the android version so I could study on my phone for this test and the next one!
I have a set of UV-5R's right now for listening. I am using them as learning tools. Upgrading as soon as I pass the exam.
Just keep at it! Once you feel you got a decent hold on this take a swing at the General Class too for study!
When you sit for your Technician Exam, after you pass it they will offer to let you take the General Exam. About 20% of the things you study for on the Tech test are on the General test too! So, you just might get your General License too! (That is what I am shooting for!)
I respond well to incentives. So I have setup a "Get your General and you can order this" list at Amazon. Here, let me share those goodies with you too!
For a mobile (and maybe a base) I choose the TYT TH-9800. It is a good Quad Band unit.
- TX: 26-33/47-54/136-174/400-480MHz
- RX: 26-33/47-54/110-180(with AM Air Band)/350-399/430-512/750-947MHz
- Power Output Setting: VHF: 50/20/10/5W UHF: 35/20/10/5W
I sit for the test tomorrow morning. I'll report back afterwards.
So wish me success!!!!
Thanks!!!!!
