Reminder: 1 week until Proof of Keys day!
Alright folks! This is your one-week reminder of Proof of Keys day. What is Proof of Keys day? Proof of Keys day occurs every year on January 3rd in order to help promote safety in the Crypto community. What happens is everyone that is holding crypto in an exchange demands access to their own private key. It is considered that if you don’t hold your own private key then you do not hold bitcoin/crypto.
Unfortunately, many exchanges fail this test and prove to be scams. On Proof Of Keys website it has a list of articles about exchanges that have failed the test. This can be eye opening for new crypto currency users. Sometimes on this day users find out that their favorite exchange may not allow withdrawal up to the withdrawal limit. Or worse, they may find they cannot withdraw their bitcoin at all.
It remains my opinion that all cryptocurrency users should be using a hardware wallet such as a KeepKey or Trezor to keep their Crypto safe.
