Multi-thousand protest blocks Camp Nou

A multi-thousand-strong protest in support of Catalonia's independence has blocked the area around the Camp Nou stadium hours before the long-awaited mega-clash between Barcelona and Real Madrid. The leaders of the La Liga stand against each other in a postponed game tonight 21:00 Bulgarian time.

Four hours before the first referee signal, supporters of the Democratic Tsunami movement, which wants Catalonia's independence, began to fill the space around the stadium. Many of them are waving Catalan flags and blue posters with the movement logo: "Spain, let's sit down and talk."

There is a serious police presence around the stadium, but so far protesters have not created any problems for law enforcement, with supporters of the Democratic tsunami saying that their demonstrations should be peaceful.

"It is very important for us to have the match held and fans who have tickets are able to enter the stadium," a Democratic tsunami said
