Last year at this time, I was in Pyongyang, North Korea. It was the most eye-opening and surreal trip of my life. And the fact that I can speak Korean after living in Seoul, gave me a deeper understanding for what was happening around me, North of the 38th parallel.
One year later, I cannot stop thinking about my trip to North Korea --especially after all of the events & controversies that have happened since then.
It's surreal to know that I'm one of the last Americans to visit the country, as the U.S. government issued a travel ban on all Americans to visit the DPRK effective last July.
I just put together this video to recap my thoughts and realizations about North Korea, as I take you back on my interesting journey around the most isolated country in the world.
What are your thoughts on North Korea? Would you ever go there if you had the chance?
If you are considering a trip, let me know and I can connect you with my friends at Koryo Tours, the amazing company I went with.
