Pigs Can Buy Wives?
Today in Papua New Guinea, I learned something new.
I learned that it's a common practice for a man to pay for his wives with pigs.
It's a tradition. Not only is this the first time I've commonly see a man PAY for his bride, but it's also the first time I've seen anyone use PIGS to pay in the same exact way that they use currency.
Are you as confused as I am right now? Papua New Guinea is truly a magnificent country if you like getting off the beaten path.
It's one of the most culturally interesting places I've ever been, and I wish I had more time to explore more (up in the highlands!)
