Hi everyone. I hope you doing well. Today I want to show some photos I took yesterday. Since one week it has begun to snow and it stayed cold. It's uncommon for us here, since the Ruhrgebiet have a lot of cities near at each other and therefore the temperatures in winter staying mostly above 0°c.
I went for a walk with my "new" Sigma 100-400 Lens. After buying it I tried it once or twice to check its functionality and then left it home (mostly I forgot to take it when I start for a walk).
At the begin of the walk I saw that some trees are trying to grow again.
The ground was frozen but good to walk.
After a while I reached the Ruhr. I like the color of the cold water.
There some ice crystals sparkling in the light at the bushes near the river.
The more you look at the banks the more ice crystals could be found there.
I saw some swans swimming and tried to catch them on a picture, in front of the castle Blankenstein.
Since the lens is a zoom lens I wanted to try what it could do. I thought the swan could be angry about the ducks but they stayed peaceful.
Only a minute later I got this bird in flight (just after it started).
That was fun, so I tried to photograph some smaller birds (a landing robin)
This little guy followed me for a short while.
The last picture is at the evening of this day and with another lens. Sundown over the valley.
I hope you enjoyed the winter walk. Until next time....
I took all photos with my Canon 5D.
