- The Sandbox to Launch Play-to-Earn Golf Experience With ALTAVA
Popular metaverse platform The Sandbox has announced a collaboration with ALTAVA to present a variety of golf-themed activities at ALTAVA Club House, the Korean Web3 premium fashion brand's 33 LAND in the Sandbox. The play-to-earn (P2E) miniature experiences will honor the successful debut of ALTAVA's Bored Ape Gold Club (BAGC) NFT collection.
The partnership is part of ALTAVA's goal to extend and form strategic relationships in Web3 in order to link NFT projects and build infrastructure for its NFT holders. ALTAVA has said that it is committed to expanding the scale of its operations in the creative economy industry.
The launch dates for ALTAVA and The Sandbox's experiences are yet to be announced. ALTAVA is also yet to provide previews or sneak peeks of the next play-to-earn golf experiences.
- PlayMining, a Web3 Entertainment Platform, Launches New Coin Pusher GameFi ‘Lucky Farmer’
Digital Entertainment Asset (DEA), a Web3 entertainment firm, has announced the release of Lucky Farmer, a new NFT game on the PlayMining gaming platform. Lucky Farmer joins the PlayMining Play-and-Earn (P&E) game library, which allows players to earn DEAPcoin ($DEP) tokens, which can be used to acquire NFTs from the PlayMining NFT marketplace or exchanged on prominent crypto exchanges such as OKX, Gate.io, Uniswap, Bitmart, and others.
To improve gameplay, the game employs two types of NFTs: Farmland NFTs and Character NFTs. Farmland NFTs grant players access to unique crops, boost the chances of winning slot combinations, and provide players with the opportunity to win $DEP tokens directly during 'Fever Time' and 'JACKPOTCHANCE.' Character NFTs let the user personalize their play experience by changing their avatar, game background, and soundtrack. When the particular characters and farming NFTs are put together, the likelihood of earning winning combos improves.
- Trading Card Game The Lost Glitches Launches Exclusively on ImmutableX
The Lost Glitches, a trading card game has launched exclusively on ImmutableX. Lost Glitches has a player-versus-player multiplayer mode, single-player campaigns, quests, and other competitive events.
In addition to collecting cards for use in combat, players will be able to level up their characters and select how to develop their skill tree to tailor the gameplay. Due to the strategic distribution of skill points, the game provides multiple ways to win, while cards may be utilized to build strong combos. This combination of accessibility and depth will provide a one-of-a-kind experience for both casual and hardcore gamers.
- WAX-Based Game Blockchain Brawlers Now Live
Blockchain Brawlers has announced the launch of its PVP gaming mode. Players may instantly begin playing the game by logging in with their WAX-based cryptocurrency wallet. Blockchain Brawlers is a PvP game in which people compete and test their wrestler NFTs. When the game's native cryptocurrency, BRWL, is integrated, they will be able to wager on their victory using it.
MMR (Matchmaking Rating) in Blockchain Brawler is a rating system in which players get points by winning matches and lose them if the reverse happens. The team also revealed that a second PvP game mode, based on the auto-chess game idea, will be released in Q1 2023.
- Champions Arena: The First Community Playtest is Now Live
Champions Arena, a new Web3 RPG from Gala Games, has made its gameplay available to the public. Gala Games announced through its Medium blog that the first community playtest is now open!
Champions Arena is a new turn-based RPG in which players may choose from over 100 different NFT champions and accessories. OneUniverse, an Indonesian graphic designer, is now developing the game, which is, of course, funded by Gala Games.
The playtest is accessible via PC and Android devices. The developers are committed to releasing a final product that is both playable, fun, and interesting to both web3 and web2 core gamers.
Notable GameFi Fundraising in the Past Weeks
Despite the impending bear market, VCs continue to commit funds to blockchain gaming as the industry continues to gain mainstream acceptance. I'm pretty sure that play2earn gamers always pay attention to where the money is because it's common knowledge that the more liquid the gaming ecosystem, the more sustainable the gaming reward. Here is an overview of some recent GameFi funding events that might interest you:
- Vulcan Forged: The $8 million Series A funding round for the leading blockchain game studio was led by SkyBridge. This financing is focused on accelerating the expansion of Vulcan Forged's unique metaverse-as-a-service engine, MetaScapes, and enabling the firm to scale operations in North America and existing key regions.
- Treasure DAO: The decentralized game console and the creator of $MAGIC announced a $3.5M token sale led by Digital Strategies Guild with participation from 1kx, Neon DAO and ID Theory, Arbitrum, Skycatcher Crypto, IOSG, Alchemy Ventures, IndiGG, and other strategic partners.
- STELLA FANTASY: P2E NFT game STELLA FANTASY closed its $6 private funding round led by KRUST UNIVERSE, a developer of KLAYTN mainnet and KLAYTN-based ecosystem incubator.
- Revolving Games: Free-to-play mobile game publisher Revolving Games has gone Web3. This move was supported in its latest $13.2m seed funding round led by Pantera Capital, with participation from Animoca Brands, Polygon, Dapper Labs, and Rockstar Games founder Dan Houser.
- Roboto Games: Gaming studio Roboto Games has doubled down on its mission to bridge Web2 experience and accessible Web3 in-game elements. This was demonstrated in its latest $15m Series A funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with participation from Ancient8, Animoca Brands, Gumi Cryptos Capital, Harrison Metal Capital, Makers Fund, Merit Circle, Transcend, and a number of angel investors.
- Heroic Story: Heroic Story has raised $6m led by Upfront Ventures with participation from Multicoin Capital, Polygon Technology, and other key investors. This fund is focused on building a Web3-enabled tabletop role-playing game platform.
- Ultimate Champions: Web3 sports game platform Ultimate Champions has exclusively raised $4m from Binance Lab. The platform is also set to be integrated into the Binance Fan Token Platform, allowing players to supercharge their fan experience and better engage with their favorite teams.
