Today the amount of beers that we can find on the market is almost unlimited. For a few years now, the boom in craft beer has been meteoric, so it's easy to find a wide variety of styles and brands. It has become fashionable to try beers, and that is good, because most people limit themselves to drinking the typical blonde lager typical of the area where we are. In Spain, brands such as Estrella Galicia, Mahou, Estrella Damm, Cruzcampo, Amsteel or Ambar, among many others, share the cake. But there is life beyond these brands, and people are opening little by little to try new styles.

In Spain, we have several options (I imagine that as in other places in the world) when trying new beers:

• Supermarkets: in almost all supermarkets we can find a more or less extensive selection of beers, but that will allow us to try new things.
• Internet: there are many beer distribution companies that operate through the Internet, being able to choose from an extensive catalog. In addition, we receive the order at home comfortably just a few hours after placing the order.
• Craft breweries: the offer of locals that make their own beer is growing and make it available to anyone who wants to try it.
• Breweries: these are the typical places where we are offered a huge variety of beers, both in barrel and in the bottle, whether they are nationally manufactured or imported.

In my case, I have been trying different beers for many years. When I visit new towns, cities or countries, I try to find beers that I have not tried, and if I can, I buy some to take home with me. I even have a lot of specific glasses and cups to use depending on the type of beer I'm going to have.

Hoy en día la cantidad de cervezas que podemos encontrar en el mercado es casi ilimitada. Desde hace unos cuantos años, el auge de la cerveza artesanal ha sido meteórico, por lo que es muy sencillo encontrar una gran variedad de estilos y marcas. Se ha puesto de moda probar cervezas, y eso está bien, porque la mayoría de la gente se limita a beber la típica lager rubia típica de la zona donde nos encontremos. En España, marcas como Estrella Galicia, Mahou, Estrella Damm, Cruzcampo, Amsteel o Ambar, entre muchas otras, se reparten el pastel. Pero hay vida mas allá de estas marcas, y la gente se va abriendo poco a poco a probar nuevos estilos.

En España, tenemos varias opciones (imagino que como en otros lugares del mundo) a la hora de probar cervezas nuevas:

• Supermercados: en casi todos los supermercados podemos encontrar una selección de cervezas mas o menos extensa, pero que nos permitirá probar cosas nuevas.
• Internet: son muchas las empresas distribuidoras de cerveza que operan a través de internet, pudiendo elegir entre un extenso catálogo. Además, recibimos el pedido en casa con toda comodidad apenas unas horas después de realizar el pedido.
• Cervecerías artesanales: cada vez es mas amplia la oferta de locales que fabrican su propia cerveza y que la ponen a disposición de todo aquel que quiera probarla.
• Cervecerías: son los típicos locales donde se nos ofrece una enorme variedad de cervezas, tanto en barril como en botella, ya sean de fabricación nacional o de importación.

En mi caso, llevo muchos años probando cervezas diferentes. Cuando visito pueblos, ciudades o países nuevos, procuro buscar cervezas que no haya probado, y si puedo, compro algunas para llevarlas a casa conmigo. Incluso tengo muchos vasos y copas específicos para usar dependiendo del tipo de cerveza que vaya a tomar.

Over time, and with the help of an application called UNTAPPD, a social network for beer lovers that I use to record and remember each beer I've had, I have managed to reach a stupendous 1,300 different beers.

From here I would like to encourage all those who enjoy a beer to try new styles.

Con el paso del tiempo, y ayudándome de una aplicación llamada UNTAPPD, una red social para amantes de la cerveza que uso para registrar y recordar cada cerveza que he tomado, he conseguido llegar a la estupenda cifra de 1.300 cervezas diferentes.
