Como granadino, la visión de la fábrica de Cervezas Alhambra (en la esquina de la Avda. de Pulianas con la Avda. de Murcia) es algo que me ha acompañado siempre, sobre todo esas cubas de color cobrizo que se dejaban entrever al comenzar la subida por la Avda. de Murcia.

En Granada, es raro el bar que no dispone de grifo de Alhambra, y por supuesto del formato botella. Creo que ese es uno de los puntos a favor de esta cerveza, que siempre ha estado por delante de otras marcas en toda Granada, y los propios granadinos siempre nos hemos sentido orgullosos de esta cerveza, que no siendo la mejor del mundo (que lo es ;) está por delante de otras marcas del sector.

Vamos a comentar un poco por encima las variedades disponibles:

Alhambra Tradicional: es la primera que se fabricó, tomando como base las cervezas alemanas tipo Lager Helles, poco lupulada para hacerla accesible a los usuarios de aquella época. 4,6% de ABV, y se comercializa en botella y lata.

Alhambra Especial: es la que te pondrán en casi cualquier bar, en botella de 33cl., inspirada en las Lager Pilsner checas, y evocando la imagen de la Alhambra de Granada, algo mas intensa y lupulada que la Tradicional y con un 5,4% de ABV.

Alhambra Reserva 1925: esta cerveza es el estandarte de Cervezas Alhambra, inspirada en las Pilsen Bohemia y elaboradas con la variedad Saaz de lúpulo, es una cerveza potente, con bastante intensidad y 6,4% de ABV. Bajo mi punto de vista, cuando se empezó a fabricar estaba mucho mejor, ya que juraría que con el paso del tiempo la han suavizado, y aun estando muy buena, ha perdido algo. En Granada se la conoce como «verde» o «milnoh».

Alhambra Reserva 1925: this beer is the standard of Cervezas Alhambra, inspired by the Pilsen Bohemia and made with the Saaz variety of hops, it is a powerful beer, with enough intensity and 6.4% ABV. From my point of view, when it began to be manufactured it was much better, since I would swear that with the passage of time they have softened it, and even though it is very good, it has lost something. In Granada it is known as "verde" or "milnoh".

Alhambra Reserva Roja: y por último, la variedad mas reciente que han sacado al mercado. Basada en el estilo Bock Tradicional y las Red Ale, presenta un color rubí y es muuuy suave, aunque es la que mas alcohol tiene de toda la gama, con un 7,2%. Se bebe muy fácilmente y su suavidad la ha acercado a muchos aficionados que prefieren cervezas intensas pero no muy fuertes de sabor.

Alhambra Reserva Roja: and finally, the most recent variety that has been released on the market. Based on the Traditional Bock style and Red Ale, it has a ruby ​​color and is very soft, although it is the one with the most alcohol in the entire range, with 7.2%. It is easily drunk and its smoothness has brought it closer to many fans who prefer intense beers but not very strong in flavor.

Como decía al principio, he bebido mucha Alhambra, ahora quizás menos al no vivir en Granada, pero aun así me alegra ver que en el 90% de los supermercados de fuera está disponible toda la gama, así que en casa siempre suelo tener. Repito que no será la mejor cerveza del mundo (que lo es ;) pero es la cerveza de mi tierra, ¡y eso hay que respetarlo! :-)

As I said at the beginning, I have drunk a lot of Alhambra, now perhaps less as I do not live in Granada, but even so I am happy to see that in 90% of supermarkets abroad the full range is available, so at home I always have. I repeat that it will not be the best beer in the world (which it is;) but it is the beer of my land, and that must be respected! :-)
