I previously posted about FIFA World Cup NFT's in the Upland Metaverse but there were details that were not yet available back then such as the specific items that would be available as NFT's in the game so I used analogues that were already in-game as examples.
All things discussed there are still valid so you may still check it out. But we now have announcements with more details that we can discuss further for those who are not familiar with the game.
FIFA World Cup Block Explorers
As mentioned in my previous post, Block Explorers(BE) in the game of Upland are your in-game avatars that float around on the map.
e.g.
The announcement says that: "Players will need to travel to specific stores depending on which Block Explorer they want". That means you will need to bring your current BE to the address of the store you want to buy from:
As the announced stores are in different cities and even countries, your BE will need to travel via international flight to get to some of them. Here below we see two kinds of airport terminals:
The white ones are for domestic flights while the yellow terminal is for international. Not all airports have international terminals so make sure you are going to a city that has one if you intend to fly to another country like Qatar. Cities that currently have international terminals in the game are San Francisco, Manhattan, Chicago, LA, Rio de Janeiro, Lisbon, Doha.
It appears that all Crest Block Explorers are going to be sold in the FIFA World Cup Village in Qatar:
while Mug Block Explorers will be in shops that are spread across the game in different cities around the world i.e. in Queens, Detroit, Rio de Janeiro, and Los Angeles. This means you would have to do a lot of travelling around the game taking international and domestic flights as well a trains and buses if you want all of these NFT items. So make sure you have enough 'Sends' to get around:
This is a limit on how many times you can send to properties other than your own. So unless you own terminals, you well need to bank some of these by clicking paper airplanes that appear randomly throughout the map when your BE comes across them:
Take note that sending to the store itself after arriving in the the city will also cost you a send.
As discussed in my previous blog post outdoor decor could be anything from statues, sofas with firepit, mailboxes, outdoor grill to an outhouse. These are all NFT's just like but distinct from the lot property they are on top of.
In the case of FIFA World Cup, one of them are floor Mosaic Tiles that you can use to make unique designs on you property:
From the demo video, you see that depending on the size of your property, you could have an endless combination of tiles where you could conceivably spell a name perhaps or even draw a face or any object just like a real mosaic.
There are also Canvases that are in each World Cup participating country's flag and a Statue that look like a big trophy:
Like the Block Explorers, these are sold in FIFA World Cup Showrooms in different cities so be sure you prepare for that as discussed.
