I have previous posts about the partnership between FIFA and Upland and as part of that deal, Upland is to release the capital city of the World Cup winner for minting which is non other than Buenos Aires. 

Apart from FIFA, Upland has also partnered with Argentina Football Association (AFA). This means NFT collectibles much like the existing NFLPA and FIFA legits on the platform as well as a similar football team tie-up for the Porto release. This particular release is classified as Vanilla Mode which means collections are not revealed immediately. This creates opportunities for speculation that may drive up prices of properties in certain areas that are well hyped. When collections are eventually revealed, prices could drastically fluctuate positively and/or negatively depending on how much certain areas lived up to the hype. If areas that were speculated heavily to be in a certain collection are then revealed to be in lower or not at all in a collection, there could be a massive selloff which nevertheless could be a buying opportunity for an otherwise eventually popular neighborhood.  

Just as in recent city releases in Upland, neighborhoods will be expanded in staggered fashion. Boca, Nuñez, Puerto Madero, Recoleta, Retiro, and San Telmo will be slated for release in this opening while the rest of the 48 total neighborhoods will be added at a later point depending on demand. 

If you are familiar with other metaverse real-estate properties other than Upland, a big difference is that Upland properties are not standard grid squares laid on top of the map of the globe. Properties here are cut as close as they can to real world property boundaries. 

As you can see on this example from LA, Upland tries to make it a replica of the real world so you might actually mint a metaverse equivalent property lot that you like IRL instead of just some random squares on top of it:

30% of the properties for this release will be reserved as Fair Start Act (FSA) properties which gives players who may not have as much financial resources a chance at securing cheap parcels of land that will be off limits to those with 100k UPX(100 USD) and above of in-game net worth. 

For those with at least 100k UPX net worth but are not liquid, there are financing options offered by 3rd parties such as the Bank Of Upland which is the first ever metaverse bank. It is running a promotion right now specifically for this release:

Before the main event, transportation terminals will be opened to facilitate in-game travel from existing cities to the new city. In this case, there would be airport and train terminals. These terminals will be sold to players via lottery queue and those in the queue can decide if they will purchase or not and let the next player in line do it instead as prices can be too steep for some at $475 for a train terminal and $1,536 for an airport. After purchasing, the player will then have to mint the property to allow other players to travel thru and earning the owner some visitor fees.

If you are planning to participate in minting at the opening of the city, make sure you have maximum sends. You need them to visit minted properties nearby the unminted properties you want to mint yourself. You don't want to be at the mercy of Upland, waiting for sends to drop on the map while you watch others mint the properties you are targeting.
