Start writing again! That's what I've been thinking about all the time. A few days ago I saw a news report on television about the phenomenon caused by short videos called "brain rot," and I was scared by the symptoms. I realized that I'm experiencing that; in my case, it's the Kwai app.
At first, I created a profile and even earned some money doing live streams, but that's also a job controlled by the algorithm's rules. Do it every day, every hour, and your profile grows, and along with it, your mental illness grows.
Soon you get tired of doing live streams and start scrolling up through an endless stream of short videos that add no value to your knowledge, and the addiction to instant dopamine sets in, and the hours pass, along with wasted energy and time.
So today, just today, after maybe a year, I've come here to tell anyone who wants to listen, anywhere in the world... Create your content if it's important for you to make money, and then leave soon after. But whenever possible, have a fixed income, a job that keeps you busy and away from short videos.
Yes, yes... I'm sorry, but that's what my wallet tells me. Make videos, maybe not so short, but don't consume them. That way you grow your niche by attracting subscribers who are just like you were a little while ago. But I repeat... risk scrolling and realize you have to take a shower and go to sleep two hours later...
I took a break there, and I intend to come here from time to time. I really want to get back to writing to stay away from short videos, so I'm going to study writing. Who knows, maybe we can build something good here.
I wish you all prosperity!
