This morning I came upon an interesting article on cointelegraph.com that shows a positive use of cryptocurrencies. Instead of the old narrative that cryptocurrencies are used for buying illegal drugs and weapons, cryptos are actually used for buying food and clothing.

Research firm Visual Objects has done a simple research in the USA asking questions to 983 people that are familiar with cryptocurrencies and 120 of these people have made purchases with crypto assets.

The first question they asked was what people think cryptos are used for when making purchases.

It shows that a lot of the respondents think it is to buy stocks or illegal items. Food and clothing show a low percentage.

Now look at the next question which is more in line of reality :

People that own cryptocurrencies and are willing to purchase something with it, actually show that drugs (illegal) and weapons are very low in line. Food and clothing are far more used when buying with crypto assets !

There has been another survey of crypto.com and The Economist that show cryptocurrencies are used quite some for buying online.

All of this shows that cryptocurrencies are on the right track. It takes time, but we will get there ! I am always happy when I read something positive on crypto, because I really believe it can change our financial system and the way things are done right now. Even if it is only going to be a small step in the right direction, it is worth taking it.
