A dark tower in the distance
Working towards ending all existance
Withering, flickering, quivering light
Growing weaker by day
As the tower burns bright
Consuming, doubting, shrouding power
What is left
That this monument won't devour?
To the tower I must go
And risk eternal damnation
But still I must push onward
My solemn obligation
A desolate path, dark and decayed
I walk alone, a suicidal crusade
Away from that, what I once called life
Towards chaos, the tower, surely strife
As the tower draws ever near
I feel it pushing on my fear
It can be felt in the air
Suffocation and despair
Pushing down like a weight
Arousing every bit of my hate
To the tower I must go
To kill the things
That should of died long ago
To the tower I must go.
~ This is a piece I have been working on for a while, if you hadn't notice I drew a lot of inspiration from Roland and company in Stephen King's The Dark Tower series. Great series and if you haven't read, I would definitely recommend them. This series of poems, 4 in total, is my journey the last few years of my life and my struggle to find 'The Tower' of my world.
