Remember how I previously mentioned how I ended up buying some crypto with ~$550 earlier this year? Well, after my many failed HYIP investments in traditional currencies, I started seriously looking into earning with other methods instead at the end of April 2021 (~4 months ago). I figured listing all of my ways of earning online, and making part 1 be about the crypto I have would make the most sense. Why am I doing this, you may ask, what am I talking about, and why should you care? Well, the answer is simple; if I explain my starting mentality, it's easier to follow my journey later on. Trust me on this, reading my ramblings at week 25, you'd wonder if I've gone insane if I didn't write this post now, so please bear with me.
Now before we start, I know there are more than 4000 different cryptos out there, but in this post, I'll be focusing on a small portion of that: 20 coins that I collect, have invested in, or somehow happened to acquire. At this point, I believe it'd be too confusing if I explained every single detail of my 'strategy' if you can even call it that, I just make things up as I go, so I'll just focus on what coins I have, how much and why. The amounts I've written as the current holdings are last checked on 11-08-2021, with the intention of writing a weekly report on 18-08-2021 (with probably more info on the platforms I use) to see where I'm standing after the 1st week of me actually keeping tabs on my online finances.
The list below is arranged based on the current value in USD at the time of the writing.
1. BTC - Bitcoin
You knew this was the first one because why wouldn't it be? As a single coin, it has the biggest market share of crypto at this point and everyone knows about BTC. Needless to say, any person that's interested in crypto has at least a small portion of this one at some point in their crypto journey. Probably the majority starts with this coin since it's most well-known not sure tho, don't quote me on that, this is just what I think. My reason for collecting BTC is to stake it for later use, I don't plan to withdraw it any time soon unless something unexpected happens. I've so far bought, earned, and mined it.
Current holdings: 0.02540991 BTC
2. ETH - Ethereum
You know, in the current market this is the #2 right after BTC, but for some reason, I just don't like this coin. I have a small portion of it, mostly probably because "everyone has it", but I don't like it, I don't really want it, and don't really actively collect it beyond what I already have. And no, I don't have a particular reason for disliking ethereum, and I haven't dived deeply into the mechanics of ETH, it's just a personal preference without a specific reason. I guess if you needed to make up a reason for my disposition towards this coin, it could be about the huge fees ETH had not too long ago, but it is what it is, end of the story. I don't have plans for my share of ETH, in fact, it's just rotting on my Coinbase for no reason currently. Maybe I'll figure a way to benefit from having it at some point in this journey.
Current holdings: 0.01831193 ETH
3. BNB - Binance Coin
Not my favorite, not my most disliked either. I sort of like it but somewhat not. A major part of the bad taste is probably because I haven't found a real use for it yet. The small portion I have of BNB is sitting on few different sites because I have collected it manually. Initially, I intended on moving it all to Binance.com for staking but any time I check their site, there is no space to stake it. In all my logical thoughts, Binance Coin was created by Binance, but they have no space to stake their own coin on their own site. This is truly an issue I never expected to face, so I've been left somewhat indifferent towards this coin. "I have it, I don't know what to do with it" would be the easiest way to summarize it.
Current holdings: 0.00069284 BNB
4. DASH
I have a very short opinion of dash. "Meh." I have it, I stake it, we'll see where it goes. Didn't buy it, just sort of happened upon it, but I'll take advantage of it to the best of my abilities.
Current holdings: 0.00102735 DASH
5. LTC - Litecoin
My opinion of this one is very odd. I consider DASH and LTC to be somehow very similar, but I really like LTC. In fact, I've even gone as far as 'mining' LTC. I don't know why I consider DASH to be so 'whatever', but see LTC in a positive light. I have all of my LTC in saving gaining some interest daily.
Current holdings: 0.01716540 LTC
6. CAKE - PancakeSwap
I like this one. I have a tiny bit of CAKE because of collecting it from a faucet. After this month is over and the faucet switches to another coin, I think I might get some more, but for now, I'm somewhat positive about this coin and curious to see where it goes.
Current holdings: 0.00361039 CAKE
7. XTZ - Tezos
My opinion of XTZ is almost the same as my opinion of DASH, the only difference would be: I only get rewards for having it every ~3 days, while I get rewards for DASH daily. I got my Tezos from faucets mostly, only to get the minimum amount required to stake it.
Current holdings: 0.12251016 XTZ
8. ADA - Cardano
It exists, alright. It's taunting me with its existence and I wish I'd reach the minimum to stake it already. Every day I see it on my dashboard and think of trading it away, yet end up keeping it anyway with the hope of a day when I'll have enough to put it to work. I want to have it, but I don't see it happening any time soon unless I decide to buy it. I've only collected it from faucets so far, but we'll see if I decide to go and buy it in the upcoming weeks or not. Currently, its main purpose is to make me like other coins more.
Current holdings: 0.37262329 ADA
9. NEXO
I somewhat like NEXO, I hope for the best for this coin. I only receive it daily as interest on a part of my BTC. Not really my favorite coin on this list, but I don't have any negative association with this coin either.
Current holdings: 1.30887150 NEXO
10. KMD - Komodo
One of my top 5 coins for sure. I really like getting hourly staking rewards, it's really motivating even if the amounts aren't so big yet. I haven't bought it, but I've exchanged a small amount of LTC for it before. I'd say my goal is to get at least a few KMD from faucets every month. Hopefully, at the end of the 2-year run, I'll have at least 100 KMD collected without investing anything.
Current holdings: 3.28366714 KMD
11. USDT - Tether
The only stablecoin I have. I've gotten it from faucets mainly, but I intend on converting some of my fiats into tether (or other stablecoins, that's yet to be decided) sooner rather than later.
Current holdings: 0.0316608 USDT
12. DOGE - Dogecoin
I have regrets about having this coin. I bought a small 20-euro amount of DOGE when it was on the rise not long ago, with the rate of 0.56€, and literally the next day it fell hard. Now, I think that DOGE is worth less than 8 euros, so I guess I'll just store it until a better day for it comes. Regardless, my thoughts on this coin are pretty neutral.
Current holdings: 33.7133886 DOGE
13. TRX - Tron
I have some of it, I really like it and I intend on collecting it for as long as is possible. I haven't bought it, but I plan on 'mining' it soon. The main purpose I have for it is staking. Definitely one of my top 5 coins + easy to get due to the low price.
Current holdings: 20.24735687 TRX
14. SPACE - Space Token
This one is yet to be added to Coingecko so I can't add the price chart here but hovers around 0.07-0.08$. A pretty new coin launched only last month so I don't expect much from it, only time will tell what happens. Collected it last month from the same faucet as I'm collecting CAKE now, but I'm hoping I'll have a better idea of whether I like or dislike it at the end of this 24-month run.
Current holdings: 5.58647186 SPACE
15. BFG - BetFury Token
I have a few of these tokens, and I have some serious issues with the platform. Collecting BFG is a nightmare, but the coin itself is practically worth 0.03$. Definitely makes me reconsider my priorities and my choices all in all. Wouldn't invest in this coin, except to finally get it to staking.
Current holdings: 2.81892865 BFG
16. FUN - FunToken (or FunFair)
I'm currently 'mining' this one, with the intention of adding it to increase my BTC staking rewards later on. I like it, but it's not my favorite either. I'd say the only reason why I want to have anything to do with this coin, is to grow my BTC staking from 4.08% to 5.10% yearly.
Current holdings: 593.21989977 FUN
17. FEY - Feyorra
I think the only reason I have this to begin with, is to stake it. I haven't bought any of it, what a surprise at this point on the list, but I have a neutral-to-positive view on this coin. I'll keep it, stake it, and maybe trade it once a suitable opportunity presents itself.
Current holdings: 72.14403953 FEY
18. RDD - Reddcoin
Surprisingly one of my favorite coins on this list. Easy, cheap and quick to collect. 0 investment on this coin so far, but I plan to get to at least 10 000 RDD by the end of the 24 months.
Current holdings: 807.79854013 RDD
19. DUTCHY
This is a bit odd one. It's not actually a coin per se in my opinion, but I figured including it would be good since its value can be counted with BTC satoshi as the help. Mostly collecting this one for the interest it gives + it can be converted to other coins as needed. I do like it, and it's easy to obtain as well, but who knows what happens to this one in the future. Currently ~144.33 dutchy = 1 satoshi.
Current holdings: 335776 DUTCHY
20. TXT
Trustdice's own token, valued currently at $0.00008008 per token. I get them daily for free so why not. The main use for me is to lock them and gain other coins with higher values in return (USDT, BTC, ETH, EOS). It's fine, but that's about it.
Current holdings: 787.8878 TXT
+2 worth mentioning:
EXG - Ex-Gold
EXS - Ex-Silver
These two I collected mainly for ExpressCrypto deposit address creation, and for exchanging for other coins later on. They’re in-house tokens for ExpressCrypto, both with fixed prices: 1 EXS is worth $0.21752002 and 1 EXG is worth $21.75200177. I think they're pretty cool, and the fact that you never have to wake up on them dropping in value by 60% is nice.
Current holdings: 0.01193859 EXG
Current holdings: 1.08815185 EXS
TOTAL HOLDINGS: $1229.20
Phew, quite a novel here now looking at what I've written. I really did try to keep it as short as possible, but at least now anyone who wants to read about my $10k journey will know about the honest starting point on the cryptos I have. Next, I think will be the second part of my inventory, as well as the weekly update.
See you next time~
