The King decided to transfer the girl immediately from the harsh labor of the slave grounds to work inside the palace, specifically within the grand royal library. This decision was not born out of pity; rather, the King was consumed by a quiet curiosity and suspicion. He was determined to uncover the secret this mysterious slave was hiding.

One day, while she was cleaning the shelves and ancient documents, her eyes happened to fall upon an old oil painting covered in a thick layer of dust. As she slowly wiped the dust away and the portrait's features became visible, her eyes widened, her face turned pale, and she took two steps back in utter shock, as if she had just seen a ghost from her past.

At that exact moment, the King was watching her silently from the shadow of the library's corridors. Her reaction was not that of an ordinary slave mesmerized by fine art; it was the reaction of someone who recognized the face in that painting on a deeply personal and dangerous level.

The King approached her with slow, firm steps. Hearing his footsteps, the girl quickly tried to hide her fear and wipe away the tears streaming down her face. The King stood before the ancient painting, gazed at it for a moment, and then turned to her with a calm yet powerful voice: "This portrait belongs to the king of the neighboring realm that fell and was destroyed in the ancient war... Why do you tremble and weep at the mere sight of his face?"

The girl remained silent at first, refusing to speak as she tried to hold onto her pride and pretend she knew nothing. But the King did not back down. Instead, he pulled a rare royal signet ring from his pocket, bearing the exact same emblem carved into the corner of the painting. Stepping closer, he said: "Kings never fail to recognize noble blood... You are no ordinary slave; you carry the secret of this fallen throne!"

Upon seeing the ring, she could no longer hold back. Tears streamed down her face as her rigid composure melted into deep grief. She finally confessed her truth—that she was the lost princess of that fallen kingdom, and told the story of how her life of luxury and her family were stolen during that war, forcing her into a life of servitude, starvation, and cruelty.

At that moment, the King's heart softened, and he no longer saw her as a slave. He immediately ordered her noble status to be restored, ensuring she received everything she deserved and bringing an end to her days of hardship and chains forever, allowing her to begin a new life filled with respect and dignity.
