Interpretation of Students’ Learning

✔Some students were interested in the topic. They came up to me to ask about the effect of oil on feathers as well as the method in which penguins lay eggs. A student asked me to explain further what is meant by waterproof feathers.

✔Some students are still not aware that a characteristic of birds is feathers.

✔Students should have recalled that air is a poor conductor of heat.

✔Students are still coming to grasp with the concept that poor conductor of heat = reduce heat loss to the surroundings

Reflection of Learning

✔Ending with a concept map helped me consolidate their learning

✔There was hardly time for me to discuss the meaning of structural as well as behaviourial adaptations.
