I did something unprecedented for the first time today. I distilled my insights gleaned from a recent visit to Ground-Up Initiative and wrote my text about composting. I had to marvel at the advances in technology. I found a text-to-speech website that converted my transcript into an audio file.
This audio file served tremendous mileage because I used it to hone the listening skills of not only my current sixth graders, but also my first-grader son. Pride surged through me because he could rattle off some facts regarding the composting process. To put the icing in the cake, I also forwarded the clip to current and former colleagues alike. This meant that people of all ages got to listen to my audio masterpiece.
