It was a scorching afternoon. My father and I ambled toward the National Orchid Garden, broad / exuberant grins plastered on our faces. Admission was free today, so my father did not want to pass up this rare chance to admire the magnificent orchids. Little did we know that we would be fascinated by the variety of animals instead!

We saw two monitor lizards, one squirrel, one hornbill and one squirrel. And a rare bird that captured the attention of bird enthusiasts who apparently came well-prepared with fancy SDLR cameras and binoculars.
