Invert conventional logic

Many personal productivity advocate that we tackle the most challenging and important task in the morning. After we expend our valuable cognitive energy trying to solve it, we will experience a soul-stirring feeling of exhilaration, which will power us through the day.

Okay, but what if you are a busy parent tasked with the unenviable task of getting your kids ready for school? And nope, you don’t want to wake up any earlier than you do now because working life is already torturing enough. Why make things harder for yourself?

What if your creative juices start flowing when you are showering your kids in the evening? That you feel inspired to consolidate those ideas before your bedtime?

Of course, we shouldn’t be using our phones because the blue light they emit will prevent us from sleeping well. But if I descend into slumberland the moment my head hits my pillow, using the phone doesn’t really impact my propensity for sleep. Since I sometimes indulge in revenge procrastination, I should replace it with something that requires my brain juices more. Like posting or commenting here on SN.

My eyes are beginning to droop, but I am quite heartened that I pushed aside my fatigue to post something before my bedtime.

I guess what I’m saying is conventional logic can only give you ideas. It’s still necessary to do wildly different things and see the stuff that resonates with you.
